About Our “Cuttack”
Cuttack is one of the oldest cities of Odisha. Being a city with more than 1000-years history, Cuttack is recognized as the ‘Millennium City’ of Odisha. lt was the capital of Odisha, prior to the new capital was shifted to Bhubaneswar, the temple city. The city is a beautiful piece of island between the rivers Mahanadi and Kathajodi. About 30 km by road from Bhubaneswar airport, the city is well connected with all the major cities of the country by rail, bus and air. The city is famous for its silver filigree works (silver wires fashioned into beautiful jewelry and decorative items) and hence known as ‘Silver City’. The temperature of Cuttack reaches about 30-34 ºC during July. However, weather during night will be pleasant. Puri (Jagannath Temple & Sea Beach), Konark (Sun Temple & Chandrabhaga Beach), Dhauli Giri (Shanti Stupa), Nandankanan Zoological Park, Khandagiri - Udayagiri Caves, and Chilika Lake are the nearest tourist places worth visiting.
About Ravenshaw University
Ravenshaw University came into existence on the 15th day of November, 2006 and recently accredited by NAAC with ‘A++’ grade. lt was an up-gradation of erstwhile heritage Ravenshaw College established in 1868, one of the oldest and largest collèges in India. At present the University has 26 departments offering 25 under graduate and 33 post graduate courses both in regular or self-financing modes. The present campus is spread over about 100 acres in the heart of the city. To cater the future, need for an expansion of the University, a new campus (Ravenshaw- Mahanadi Campus) was established with 127 acres of land in the vicinity of the city at a scenic confidence of the river Kathaj0di and Mahanadi near Naraj, Cuttack.
About Our Department
The Department of Botany was founded in 1906 as the first department in the subject with an aim to impart teaching and research in plant science in the state of Odisha. With more than 100 years of Botany teaching, the Department not only excelled in the field of educati0n but also in various fields of Plant Science Research. Presently the Department is offering UG (Botany), PG (Botany and Biotechnology), and Doctoral (Botany and Biotechnology) programs. The Department was supported by DST-FIST (2nd term) and engaged in research activities in the field of Plant Biotechnology & Tissue Culture, Ecotoxicology, Plant Physiology & Biochemistry, Photosynthesis, Stress Biology, Ethnobotany, and Microbiology supported by various funding agencies such as UGC, DBT, DST, ISR0, CSIR and ANRF. At present, the Department is a part of ‘Center of Excellence in Environment and Public Health’ funded by World Bank Project of Government of Odisha under OHEPEE for carrying out cutting edge research in the field.
Call for Abstracts
Abstracts are invited from the interested participants to present their research work in the conference. Abstract will only be submitted through online mode (using online portal: http://www.etpsr2025.in) only after the online submission of the ‘Registration Form’. The participants can give their option for oral or poster presentations. They are also required to mention the ‘theme’ in which they want to present their paper. The abstracts will be scrutinized by the organizing committee and if accepted, decision will be communicated to the participant indicating their mode of presentation. No participant is allowed to submit more than three abstracts. At the same time one author can present only one paper in what so ever mode of presentation. For publication of abstract in the abstract volume, at least one of the authors has to be registered for the conference. The abstracts for both oral and poster presentations should be limited to a maximum of 250 words. The title should be written with 14-point Times New Roman font and in sentence case. In the next line, the name of the authors should be mentioned and affiIiati0n(s) of the authors should be on the subsequent line(s). These lines should be with centered alignment. The last line should contain the Email of the corresponding author. The name and Email of the corresponding author should be marked with asterisk in superscript (*). The name of the presenting author should be in all capital letters; all other author names should be in ‘Capitalize Each Words’ case. The abstract text should be organized in one paragraph. The font should be in Times New Roman, 12-pointfont and 1.5 point spaced. The abstract should be devoid of any references, tables and graphics.
Accommodation
The organizing committee has finalized some hotels for delegates, which are located at the close proximity of the University and Cuttack railway station. The detail tariff and other information of these hotels have been given in the conference website (https://etpsr2025.in/). These hotels can be booked by the delegates directly (when booking please mention that the booking is for participating a conference hosted by Ravenshaw University). The listed hotels are the suggested ones as the to and from transportation facilities will be provided from these hotels to the venue. Limited rooms are available in hostels and accommodation to the registered student participants will be provided in these hostels on request in advance.
About the Conference
ETPSR 2025 National Conference on Emerging Trends in Plant Science Research (ETPSR-2025) is envisaged to provide a platform for academicians, scientists, researchers, and students to interact through deliberations on various recent developments in the field of plant science research. The conference has been meticulously planned to cover a wide spectrum of topics such as Plant Biochemistry, Applied Microbiology, Plant Biotechnology, Ethnobotany, Taxonomy, Food and Fodder Crop Research, Biodiversity & Environment Conservation. The focus of this conference is to deliberate upon various modem and emerging trends in plant sciences for human welfare and sustainable development. The conference will have plenary, keynote and invited lectures by renowned scientists/professors as well as presentations by young and emerging researchers. This will be an opportunity for the young researchers to interact with established academicians, scientists and entrepreneurs from various parts of the country and brainstorm for the welfare of the society.
