
About Our “Cuttack”
Cuttack is one of the oldest cities of Odisha. Being a city with more than 1000-years history, Cuttack is recognized as the ‘Millennium City’ of Odisha. lt was the capital of Odisha, prior to the new capital was shifted to Bhubaneswar, the temple city. The city is a beautiful piece of island between the rivers Mahanadi and Kathajodi. About 30 km by road from Bhubaneswar airport, the city is well connected with all the major cities of the country by rail, bus and air. The city is famous for its silver filigree works (silver wires fashioned into beautiful jewelry and decorative items) and hence known as ‘Silver City’. The temperature of Cuttack reaches about 30-34 ºC during July. However, weather during night will be pleasant. Puri (Jagannath Temple & Sea Beach), Konark (Sun Temple & Chandrabhaga Beach), Dhauli Giri (Shanti Stupa), Nandankanan Zoological Park, Khandagiri - Udayagiri Caves, and Chilika Lake are the nearest tourist places worth visiting.
About Ravenshaw University
Ravenshaw University came into existence on the 15th day of November, 2006 and recently accredited by NAAC with ‘A++’ grade. lt was an up-gradation of erstwhile heritage Ravenshaw College established in 1868, one of the oldest and largest collèges in India. At present the University has 26 departments offering 25 under graduate and 33 post graduate courses both in regular or self-financing modes. The present campus is spread over about 100 acres in the heart of the city. To cater the future, need for an expansion of the University, a new campus (Ravenshaw- Mahanadi Campus) was established with 127 acres of land in the vicinity of the city at a scenic confidence of the river Kathaj0di and Mahanadi near Naraj, Cuttack.
